Pecan Bourbon Apple Cider

Ever craved a pecan pie in a glass? Well we did, too. We're dusting off this excellent cold-weather drink recipe because the weather outside is getting a bit nippy.

This recipe involves a little pre-planning, so let's get started.

Pecan-Infused Bourbon

Spread your pecan halves across a cookie sheet, then lightly toast in a 250 degree fahrenheit oven. This shouldn't take long, so don't get too distracted around the house. When the pecans have cooled, throw them in the bottom of a mason jar and drown them a bottle of your favorite bourbon. Seal the lid and let the whole shebang infuse in a cool dark place for 5 - 7 days.

Mulled Cider

Grab your favorite apple cider and pour it in a crockpot or large saucepan with a lid with vanilla beans and cinnamon sticks. Simmer the deliciousness for 3 or 4 hours.

Got your pecan-infused bourbon ready? Good. Here's the recipe:

  • 2 oz pecan-infused bourbon
  • mulled cider, warm
  • whipped cream, for garnish

Pour pecan-infused bourbon into a mason jar, then fill with warm mulled cider. Garnish with a generous dollop of whipped cream (a pecan pie isn't a pecan pie without whipped cream!).

And there you have it. Whether you're coming off the slopes or cozying in for binge-watching your favorite Netflix shows, this pecan bourbon apple cider is sure to keep you warm and toasty.
